Christening (Baptism)

A Christening is just the start of an exciting journey of faith. Baptism (the event that takes place) is where we welcome a person into the family of God’s people. People can be baptised at any age, and it is service where we celebrate new beginnings, belonging and believing.

Most baptisms in these parishes take place in special baptism services on Sunday afternoons at 2pm, although they can be included in a regular Sunday service too!

There is no charge for a Baptism service, although we offer families the chance to share the donations given in the collection between the church and a charity of their choosing.

When we arrange a baptism one of the clergy will arrange a meeting to explain and discuss what baptism means and what Christians believe. It is also a chance for you to chat through the service and the special day.
